What you see here is painfully cramped space… and lots of cables. Lots of cables… And I hate messy, tangled cables. For now, I’ll say the desk design had to accommodate a 4x1 matrix/multiviewer, a 4x2 switch, two 1x2 splitters and all of the cables between everything listed here. I could do another long post just on the HDMI setup. What I had My old desk was a boxy, immovable, L-shaped monster covered with stuff, including two MacBooks, an ethernet switch, two UPSes, a DirecTV tuner, an AppleTV, a 50” TV, and a bunch of HDMI gear and cables. Those who tend to over rotate, especially on standing desks - and really, really if you’re trying to figure out screw inserts or holding up a heavy monitor or wire management - there’s probably something in here for you, so put on a pot and settle in we’re gonna be a while… Oh, and one more thing, this is a really long post. Should you choose to try anything you see here, your mileage may vary, prices are a year and a half old, and all risk to whatever you cut - metal, wood, yourself, whatever - is yours.īTW, I have no relationship with Deskhaus other than being a very happy, fully paying customer (as in, not a shill!).This is neither a quick nor an easy build. He told me OMT said they’d make the feet and brackets if he ordered 1,000 of them. It’s a couple of mods I made myself and not an official Deskhaus offering so don’t bug Chris to get one. The TC4 thing is pure fan non-fiction. With the Michigan made frame, Pennsylvania made top, and German made lift system, this is the most American - and least Chinese - made product you’ll find.ĭisclaimers Before we go any further, I should clarify a few things: To that, we add a gorgeous 32”x78”, 1 1/4” thick Sapele top from central PA. The new nozzles will obviously be unclogged. The Traverse City Desk, built on the Vertex Pro TC4 frame If they're on the cartridge, and the cartridge is mostly empty, you can just replace it. Also, check to see if your model of printer houses the nozzles on the ink cartridges or on the printer. The same cleaning cycle you used for the print head can be used for the nozzles. When you find you do need to clean the nozzles, you can try several different procedures. Today's high-resolution inkjet printers have extremely fine ink nozzles the inks are specially designed to flow through them without clogging, and to dry quickly on the paper without drying on the print head or in the nozzle. Of course printer manufacturers will always tell you to use the right brand and formulation of ink, but it's not all just marketing - cheap ink can cause all kinds of headaches with your printer, and might end up costing you more in the long run. Inferior inks can cause clogging issues as well. If you don't use your printer for several weeks or months, this can cause ink to dry out and clog the nozzles.
